Curiouser and Curiouser

Curiouser and Curiouser

As a huge Disney fan, I knew when I saw this Cheshire Cat by Hextraordinary out for Fifty Linden Friday that I would have to do an Alice in Wonderland themed picture.  Luckily I remembered that The Looking Glass had the perfect display set up at the Swank Event so I popped back over and planted myself in the display and grabbed the shot.  Exploring in Second Life really pays off!  The Cheshire Cat knew what he was talking about so I will end this post with a quote from that grinning, disappearing feline….”Every adventure requires a first step!”

Chill Out!

Chill Out

Happy Thursday everyone.  We have almost made it to the weekend and we are having a heat wave again.  It’s 91F here today so I am inside staying nice and cool.  While checking out The Level Event I found they have a pretty cool sim design going on as well.  It was the perfect setting for the theme of this picture, staying cool on a hot summer evening!  This great little top by Eyelure paired up well with my Miss Chelsea shorts and I even put on my roller skates and wheeled around the sim!  Reminded me of “back in the day” when hitting the roller rink was what we did every weekend!  Hop on something with wheels this weekend and go have fun!

Coffee, Tea or Me?

Coffee, Tea or Me_

I am in a couple of Flickr groups that like you to include a song with your picture…a song that inspired the picture.  I don’t usually listen to music while blogging and I’m not sure why considering I have playlists on YouTube and Spotify.  While blogging the other day I had my Prince playlist going and my mind was flooded with ideas.  This photo is a result of of the song International Lover by Prince.  Music can truly be an inspiration.  If you have hit a bit of a road block in your blogging turn your favorite playlist up loud and I’m sure something will come to you.

Here kitty, kitty!

Here kitty, kitty!

Pet ownership!  It’s a tough job sometimes.  Last night, at bedtime I might add, my little dog proceeded to go out to do his last business of the evening, as usual. This time however, he found something that he thought would be delightful to roll around in and bring back to show mommy.  He was proud of himself and I’m sure he was thinking he was perfectly camouflaged from the squirrels he so longs to catch.  The reality was that he stunk to high heaven and required a late night bath.  He likes baths though so now that I think about it maybe that was his plan all along.  He’s lucky he’s cute!

We all have a blogging style we are more comfortable with but its also fun and refreshing to go outside our comfort zone and try different looks whether it’s in the fashion or the cosmetics.  I get inspired when something speaks to me and this outfit by Rapture did just that.  I had a lot of fun playing with makeup and lighting on this one.  It was a good way to spend a Monday morning!  Have a great week everyone!

Runaway Bride

Runaway Bride

I have had the idea for this photo shoot for awhile and had been looking for a suitable place.  I couldn’t find anything I liked so I did what most of us Second Life bloggers do and built the set myself.  Seven years of hoarding has really come in handy since I started blogging.  I’ve never been to a wedding that was called off at the last minute and I imagine its horrible for the bride and groom as well as the guests.  My wish to all the future brides out there is that you all get your “happily ever after”!

DIY Disaster

DIY Disaster.jpg

Do you ever watch those shows on HGTV, a home and garden television channel, and get inspired to tackle a project around the house?  I have seen some fantastic outcomes and wonder if that is done in final edits and just how much help did they REALLY have.  I have done my share of DIY projects but there are a few I won’t tackle….those that involve gas and plumbing.  I have no desire to blow up my house or flood it!  With that creativity in mind I used this great pose from PoseEd Poses to create a whole new scene.  That is the fun with poses for me…to look outside the box and continue coming up with great new ideas for them.

A Sea of White and Blue

Sisterhood of the Traveling...

I had vacation on my mind this morning and ever since I saw Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants years ago, I have always wanted to go to Greece.  Pictures taken of Santorini, with its cascade of white and blue buildings meeting with the cobalt sea are breathtaking.  This led me to go hunting for a sim inspired by the beauty of Greece.

I ended up in Harmony City and while it had the general look I was going for it also reminded me to look at things with an open mind and with your imagination.  It’s easy to take beautiful photos at a really well done sim where everything has been arranged for such a purpose with all the best landscaping our Lindens can buy but this doesn’t mean there isn’t beauty in a place that perhaps doesn’t use any of those things. Perhaps the beauty of it comes from the heart of the creator, doing their best to create a place that has meaning for them and then hoping someone else may see its beauty as well.

After doing my usual playing around with windlights and panning for the perfect spot my camera landed here.  I love the picture because taking it reminded me to look at the world, both physical and virtual, with open eyes, an open mind and an open heart. There truly is beauty in everything.

Burnt Orange

Burnt Orange.jpg

Though it’s nice today I know fall is right around the corner and I am sure in Michigan (where I lived most of my life) that the leaves will soon begin to change colors, if they haven’t already, and the evenings and mornings will start to feel brisk.  Even though I don’t live there anymore, I still remember that chill in the air, the smell of burning leaves and trips to the cider mill.  I will be going back to Michigan in September for a wedding and I plan to soak it all in…there is nothing like a cup of cider, a warm, slightly greasy donut, complete with bees swarming about,  getting their own sample of the sweetness visitors leave behind.  I can’t wait!

Welcome Spring!!  Oh…wait…I’m late for that aren’t I?  Well that is one of the good things about Second Life.  You can change the season with just a few clicks of your mouse at any given notice.  I think this tulip chair by Kei Spot is so cute. It comes with 6 texture options and is full of single, cuddle and even adult animations…you know the birds and the bees stuff!  I, obviously, am the bee in the picture thanks to this adorable outfit by CandyDoll.  The chair can be found at Redeux, happening now thru the 21st.  Summer is winding down so take time to smell whatever you might still have blooming…but watch out for the bees!
