Country Mouse

Country Mouse

Featuring {Old Barn Door}

One of my favorite childhood stories was The Town Mouse and The Country Mouse.  It also has a very good moral.

The fancy Town Mouse makes the Country Mouse feel bad with her humble surroundings and invites her to the city to see how much better life is in town.  So the Country Mouse goes and encounters several frightening events; a dog, a cat and people with brooms.  She soon realizes that the “cheese is NOT creamier on the other side of the fence” and offers these final words to the Town Mouse as she picks up her carpet bag and umbrella and heads for her country home:

“You may have luxuries and dainties that I have not,” she said as she hurried away, “but I prefer my plain food and simple life in the country with the peace and security that go with it.”

I am sure the Country Mouse is perfectly happy in this little country cabin…even if some kitties do happen to live there.

Featured here is the Primitive Sassanach Set from my newest sponsor, Old Barn Door.  If you love a country/primitive style then Old Barn Door is your place to shop.  They have furniture, decor and even homes.
