D is for Donkey

Featuring |T|L|C| Home Collection

More goodies from |T|L|C| Home Collection.  This time we have adorable donkeys!  I love when a creators design sparks a wonderful memory and that has happened with both of TLC’s recent designs.

If you follow my blog you know that yesterday I featured the little goats from TLC and I almost named that photo “Goats Gobble Garbage”, which was a cute child’s alphabet song that my daughter and I used to sing together when she was just a little girl.  Today’s photo reminds me of a memory from my own childhood.

My mother, a longtime collector of antiques and collectibles, has a set of milk glass mugs that feature a letter of the alphabet along with a little poem on them.  Most every weekend my mom made a big breakfast that included homemade cocoa using the recipe on the side of the Hershey’s Cocoa Powder box and my sister and I would take turns picking which mug we were drinking out of that day.  “D is for Donkey” was always a favorite.  I still remember the little poem well and am happy to share the memory.

D is for Donkey
He’s strong and so wise
and so very gentle
a ride I advise

Thanks for the memories |T|L|C|! Happy Friday everyone!
