Shades of Grey

Shades of Grey

Shades of grey, yes…but not 50 of them.  The Heather dress from [Aleutia] IS about seduction though and will be available at the Seduction Fair.  The dress comes in multiple colors and of course there is a fatpack that allows you to mix and match colors of different parts of the dress.   The Seduction Fair starts tomorrow, December 7th at 1 PM SLT and closes on December 21st at 4 PM SLT.  Happy seducing!

Come Back Frosty

Come Back Frosty

Blogging should first and foremost be about doing something you love.  When I finally had the time to start working on photography and blogging I started with things I already had in my inventory.  Luckily I had been a bit of a hoarder in Second Life so had a good bit of stuff to work with.  I was full of ideas and had fun laying out a scene.

I have written before about not wanting to be put into a blogging category and that is still true.  I wondered if, the longer I blogged, that I would change my mind in that regard. I haven’t.  I like blogging decor, fashion, poses and sometimes just an idea.  That is what this picture is about.  It was just an idea.  There are no sponsored items, nothing I am showcasing…just an idea I got while watching the old animated and stop motion classics (Rudolph, Frosty, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, The Little Drummer Boy) while I decorated my Christmas tree.

I hope you enjoy my version of Karen, heartbroken and crying, because Frosty has melted after being locked in the greenhouse by Professor Hinkle.  Of course Santa comes and saves the day with a gust of northern wind and Frosty is returned to life.  Magical winters!  I love them.

Indian Summer

Indian Summer

I’m not sure we met all the guidelines for an official Indian Summer but it was 70 degrees Sunday and that was above the average for December.  My husband and I worked out in the garage, gathering Christmas decorations as we went and sorted the other items that had collected over the summer. Thankfully, we like each other so we work well together! *Winks

It seems my sponsors were busy creating items that would work well together also. They came up with some great things for the latest round of We Love Roleplay.  Playing “dress-up” is so fun and this photo was fun to shoot.  The outfit is from *SK* and comes in 7 colors at regular price plus a special Christmas pattern for just 50L.

The next item is by Krescendo.  The Wildwood Furs drying on the rack…only they are not just decor furs.  It is actually a gorgeous rug that comes in PG and Adult versions.  Krescendo is also offering a matching pillow for just 50L.  In fact, all creators are offering an item for just 50L this round.  You can see the gallery of all items here.

A Blue Christmas

A Fireside Christmas

Usually I stick to the traditional reds and greens in my indoor decorating but I have always loved blue lights on trees outside.  That being said, all it took was this beautiful set in shades of teal and blue to inspire me to bring a little of that blue indoors.

This set, Winter is Calling, is just one of the offerings by Beyond Majestic at the SL Christmas Expo and they are all gorgeous. Other sets include Up On the Rooftop, which is done in traditional colors and has a cute train going around the tree; Endless Winter is Coming, which has a darker feel, and the Expo exclusive, A Little Christmas Magic, which includes several little elves busying themselves in the tree and on the hearth.  You just have to see them.

Every one should make a trip to the Christmas Expo as there is something for all.  I love the way you can hop on the channel ice skating tour and effortlessly be guided along the ice, allowing you to window shop with ease.  If you see something you want to take a closer look at just hop off to take a peek and then hop right back on to continue your tour.  Don’t forget, creators are donating 50-100% of proceeds to the Relay for Life/American Cancer Society.  The SL Christmas Expo runs through the 9th so don’t be a last minute shopper…Go now and enjoy!  You can read all about the Expo here.

Festive Comfort

Festive Comfort

It was back in October I think, that Brocante offered these red chairs and a matching sofa as their Fifty Linden Friday item.  I bought them, as I was thinking ahead, and just knew I would be using them in a holiday/Christmas photo and as you can see, here they are!

Just like in real life, I pulled out my favorite Christmas items and added a few new things to create this merry, festive sitting area.  Some of the new things were from the Black Friday sales, The Frozen Solid Cart Sale and the SL Christmas Expo.  There is no shortage of beautiful decor and fashion in Second Life right now so if you haven’t already spruced up your home and picked out your holiday outfits now is the time to do so!  Have fun and Merry Christmas! (Yes, it’s December…I can say that now! 🎄)

Pastel Winter

Pastel Winter

My post today is for one of the blogger challenges offered by the SL Christmas Expo called “Why I Relay“.  The challenge is for anyone who has a personal reason to support Relay For Life and the American Cancer Society and like it or not, I have reason.

I am a two time breast cancer survivor. First diagnosed in 2007, I went through the usual treatment; chemo, surgery, radiation. Thankfully, I was able to move forward, rarely giving cancer another thought, determined not to live in fear of the “what if’s” and I did that successfully. Fast forward to 2016, when I learned it was back, this time learning I had inherited a gene mutation, BRCA2 that raised my odds of getting breast and ovarian cancer greatly, 80% in fact. There was more surgery, more chemo but I did it all again, successfully and am doing well today.

Since the second diagnosis, its been a little harder not to think about the “what if’s” but they are mostly in regards to my daughter, who is about to be tested for the gene mutation she has a 50/50 chance of having.  So, why do I relay?  I relay for myself, I relay for my dear friend, Toni, who lost her fight after 3 graceful battles, I relay for my nephew, newly diagnosed with Lymphoma and about to begin chemo, I relay for all of those who have fought this battle successfully or gracefully never gave up trying and most of all I relay for my beautiful daughter, my only child, the greatest treasure I have ever known so that if she is faced with hard decisions, she will have the knowledge to make the best choices for her, in part due to the work done by The Relay for Life, the American Cancer Society and all of the other organizations working to end cancer.

Please visit the SL Christmas Expo, look around, shop, donate. There are great things available and with creators donating proceeds up to 100%, it is effortless on your part to support this great cause.

Hygge Holiday

Hygge Holiday

Ok…being the Google girl that I am, I had to find out what Hygge is, especially considering I have seen the word several times this week.  First of all, since I know you are dying to know, its pronounced hue-guh, at least according to Google and it is “a Danish and Norwegian word for a mood of coziness and comfortable conviviality with feelings of wellness and contentment”.

I think this latest gacha set from Krescendo has captured that feeling perfectly.  The pieces are just beautiful. The Hygge Holiday set will be available at The Epiphany, which starts later today. Collect all the pieces and then go enjoy your cozy, comfortable feeling of wellness…don’t we all need that!?

*Landmark to The Epiphany will be active once the event opens.
