Need an oil change? Tune up? You’ve come to the right place!  The newest releases from Meva are inspiring me to throw on some tats and be a little rough around the edges.  I combined the leather and tattoos with some feminine hair because I like that combination of hard and soft.

Be sure to check out all the recent releases from Meva because all of the pieces can be mixed and matched with each other for several great looks.  I am wearing pieces from the Rory set, currently at Kinky!  Hurry over to Kinky before the 19th and be a little naughty while Santa isn’t watching!

A Little Help From Friends

A Little Help from Friends

I am about to start my yearly struggle with Christmas lights.  I’m running behind this year so won’t be going all out but I do want to put them in the front windows.  It would be nice to just open the door and have my feathered friends come in and flit about, hanging lights here and there, while I sipped cocoa on the couch.  Since that is not going to happen, I guess I better get busy.  Happy Monday everyone!

I Believe in Santa!

What to my wondering eyes should appear_

When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer,
With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and call’d them by name:
“Now! Dasher, now! Dancer, now! Prancer and Vixen,
“On! Comet, on! Cupid, on! Donder and Blitzen
“To the top of the porch! To the top of the wall!
“Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!”

-From A Visit from St. Nicholas by Clement Clarke Moore

I love how creating a scene can bring back such delightful memories, some old and some not so old.  I loved Christmas as a child and was blessed with parents that let me believe in Santa and worked all of their magic to make it appear he was real.  I did the same for my daughter, always leaving oats, sprinkled with glitter so they would sparkle across the snow, near our front door and white, pine scented boot prints in a trail from the chimney to the tree.  Such sweet memories!  Thank you to all the creators below, who stoked the embers of those memories, letting them shine bright once again.

My Soft Place to Land

My Soft Place to Land

A soft place to land…we all need one.  I have a great one in my husband.  Now don’t get me wrong, sometimes he’s as soft as a brick if you know what I mean but that is to be expected in any relationship.  Not every day is perfect and there are times he makes me angry or just irritates me and I know there are times I do the same to him.  I don’t like picking up the jalapeno stems he constantly leaves on the kitchen counter and I know he doesn’t like it when I fact check him on things…like *ahem* the build up of co2 from a vent free gas fireplace for instance.

Even with all of that, he and I have far more perfect days than imperfect ones and I wouldn’t trade him for anything in the world.  I have learned a lot about relationships from him as well, most important I think is looking at things from the other person’s viewpoint….something that is not always easy to do when your emotions are in the way.  I have to remind myself that just because we are having an “imperfect” day doesn’t mean he has stopped loving me.  We can be angry with one another but that doesn’t mean the love is gone. He has stayed by my side through some major medical issues, provides a great life for the both of us, encourages my dreams, tells me he is proud of me and brings me a candy bar and a frozen coke several times a week as he comes home from work.  I hope he feels those same things from me..taken care of, respected and most of all, loved.

Leather, Rubber & Steel

Leather, Rubber & Steel

Leather, rubber and steel…all of these can be found in my photo but that is not the only place you can find items constructed of those materials.  Can you guess what I may be talking about?  If you guessed the Kinky Event you would be correct!  This beautifully detailed corset, or corsage in German (I had to ask and thank you Suzi!) by Meva, comes with a hud allowing you to change colors on the bodice, straps, laces and metals for endless combinations.  It laces beautifully up the back and sides.  I am wearing it with the Sora gloves, also by Meva, which match perfectly.  The Kinky Event starts tomorrow, October 28th at 1 PM SLT.

Getting An Eyeful

Getting An Eyeful

I love the way this picture turned out!  Such a fun and original idea for a pose.  I laugh when I look at this picture.  Ciara looks like she sees something she likes while I look like I need to find the nearest eyewash station.  The pose is by shi.s poses and is one of several new poses they have at the Dubai Event.  The event opens today and runs through November 10th.  This friends pose is only 100L and includes the shape for a perfect fit.  I look forward to seeing what others come up with for this pose!  Happy shopping!

If I Only Had A Brain

If I Only Had A Brain(1)

Considering The Wizard of Oz is my all time favorite movie, I am pretty partial to scarecrows.  Most people don’t know that The Wizard of Oz movie is actually based on just one of a  whole series of Oz books by Frank L. Baum.  There are 14 books in total and they have been my library for years!  The original book was published in 1900 and when MGM released the film adaption in 1939, they included in the credits a dedication that to this day touches me right in the heart.

“For nearly forty years this story has given faithful service to the Young in Heart; and Time has been powerless to put its kindly philosophy out of fashion. To those of you who have been faithful to it in return …and to the Young in Heart …we dedicate this picture.”

The sunflower field by TLC will add an instant touch of autumn to your home and includes 3 highly detailed, stand alone birds you will use all year round.  You can find my scarecrow buddy, created by  pose-S, at REDEUX, open now through the 21st.   He includes 5 poses and is a great decor piece even if you are not using him for photos.  GO ahead and climb on his back…it will keep you “young at heart”.
