My daughter, an only child, got married 2 weeks ago. It was wonderful and bittersweet at the same time. I am so proud of her and who she has become. We live hundreds of miles apart and I miss her every day. She and I went hunting for fairies often when she was little and being the creative child she was, she spent a good month one summer, making tiny articles of clothing for the fairies she was sure flitted around our house. They were bits of twisted and tied fabric that I still have to this day. She would lay them out near her bed each night, sometimes with a note, and every morning those tiny pieces of clothing had been scooped up by the fairies sometime in the night. This beautiful pose by PosEd Poses was a sweet reminder of the childhood moments she and I shared. Someday I hope she has a blond haired little beauty of her own and that they spend warm summer evenings hunting fairy boys and girls among the flowerbeds and trees.
It’s official! Happy October everyone! As some of you know, I have been gone the better part of a week to attend my daughters wedding. Everything was beautiful and went wonderfully. She is now off to the first part of her honeymoon, our favorite vacation destination, Disney World! When I returned home last night I was greeted by some great new Halloween items to blog. This mausoleum reminded me of the Haunted Mansion attraction at Disney World which is a favorite of mine. It is available now at the “Welcome to Heck” – I Heart the Cart sale along with many other spooky goodies.
I decorated and landscaped a small parcel for a friend who wanted a little Asian inspired zen getaway and she has been gracious enough to allow me to take pictures there on more than one occasion. When I saw these new items from ::NEWCHURCH::, I knew I would be asking again. I love the rich colors and the textures are just gorgeous. The Yasuragi bed is available now at Ultra and the Kengo Tansu stepped side cabinets, which also come in 4 different configurations, are available at Blueprint, which is a brand new home and garden shopping event making its debut on September 18th. I am so glad ::NEWCHURCH:: is participating in what promises to be a great event. Be sure to check out the event as well as the ::NEWCHURCH:: main store for a great selection of beautiful pieces.
I love a room filled with light and shadows and looking at this room I can feel the fresh air, just starting to chill with the setting sun, and the smell of burning leaves in the distance. Decorating in Second Life has always brought me joy and I have spent countless hours doing just that. That is one of the joys of having more time to blog. I can throw up some walls or a house (which I have collected many of..houses and hair are my weakness) and build any room I can imagine. Grab a cup of coffee, curl up on the sofa and enjoy the view!
I have had the idea for this photo shoot for awhile and had been looking for a suitable place. I couldn’t find anything I liked so I did what most of us Second Life bloggers do and built the set myself. Seven years of hoarding has really come in handy since I started blogging. I’ve never been to a wedding that was called off at the last minute and I imagine its horrible for the bride and groom as well as the guests. My wish to all the future brides out there is that you all get your “happily ever after”!
