Spring Has Sprung

Spring Has Sprung

Featuring [Krescendo] and Tuesdays

Spring comes early in the south and it still catches me by surprise even though I have lived here just over 6 years now.  My daffodils have bloomed, redbuds are blooming and trees are budding their little green leaves that will unfurl before we know it.

Spring is also a time for all the new babies like my ducks here…or like the 5 kittens I discovered IN the duct work of my house.  They are cute little things, Manx kittens, with little bobs for tails though clearing them out is going to be difficult.  The HVAC man was here today along with Animal Control who won’t do a thing to help except provide a cage once they are caught.  The property management company is going to send their “wildlife” guy out to set some live traps and I have a feeling this is going to take awhile.  Wish me luck!

Barefoot In The Park

Barefoot In The Park

Featuring Faida , Fashiowl Poses & Bee Designs

Being barefoot is the best!  I can’t stand wearing shoes and am usually barefoot or in flip flops…even in the middle of winter here in the southern US.  This cute little pose set comes to us from Fashiowl Poses and is available at Redeux.  It’s called  Peaceful and includes the tree, circular bench and all of the decor items on bench except the doggie and me.  We are not included 😊!

Also available at Redeux is this super cute, girly top and skirt from Faida.  It just feels so feminine! The mix of tartan with the delicate striping inset with ruffle is adorable.

Setting off the feeling of spring are these beautifully details flowers from Bee Designs.  I have sunk them in the ground a bit for better camera position but they do have a small trunk in a shallow pot a bit like a topiary.  They can also be found at Redeux.  This is a great round of Redeux.  Don’t miss it!!

Courageous Woman

Courageous Woman

Featuring *SK*

“There is a stubbornness about me that never can bear to be frightened at the will of others. My courage always rises at every attempt to intimidate me.”

Elizabeth Bennet – Pride and Prejudice

This picture is a perfect example of why I say I don’t want to limit myself to one style of blogging.  For me it is so much more satisfying when I can be inspired by something whether it is fashion or decor, modern or vintage.

I thought of the movie Pride and Prejudice immediately when I saw this dress by *SK*.  I love the movie and the main character, Elizabeth Bennet,  or perhaps I should say I love the personality given to the character by the book’s author, Jane Austen.  Elizabeth is courageous, playful, independent and intelligent….she just doesn’t put up with crap, you know?

The quote above is one of my favorites.  I have always felt that same way for as long as I can remember but didn’t realize how fortunate that really was until I was older.  Peer pressure has never been an issue for me at any point in my life and I realize how lucky I was to have escaped it.  I have never felt a need to fit in if that meant pretending and I have never been afraid to admit to my likes or dislikes about something, even if they put me in the minority.

These strengths begin to be formed in childhood and I realize not everyone is allowed to nurture these strengths.  My wish for all is that you have the same courage Elizabeth had and that it rises up when you need it most!

Rural Delivery

Rural Delivery

Featuring Sway’s

Let me just say how much fun I have had blogging these past 8 months!  So far I haven’t hit any roadblocks or lack of ideas and that is in part due to my sponsors.  I love when I get an idea instantly upon seeing items as I am unpacking them and the latest release from Sway’s did exactly that.

Featured here are items from the Mail For You gacha set that is available now at The Gacha Garden.  As soon as I saw the key photo I got my idea….it was that quick.

Up until I was about 10 we lived in the city, on a cute little city block where our mail was delivered to a cute little mailbox that hung right next to the front door.  Then we moved to the “boonies” which wasn’t really the boondocks but after living in the city it sure seemed like it.  It was certainly rural though.  People lived on acres, not lots and there were farms and horses and orchards…a complete change of scenery for sure. Where I had usually walked to school, I now had to take a bus and where we had been able to open the door and get the mail without even stepping off the porch, we now had to not only go outside but also cross the street to get to the mailbox.  It was totally normal to see clusters of mailboxes side by side.

That is still the place I think of as home, the place my mother still lives 40+ years later and I still smile now whenever I drive past little clusters of mailboxes.  Have a great weekend everyone!

Back To Santorini

back to santorini

Featuring Meva

Santorini is on my bucket list of places I would love to visit.  I think the first time I learned of it was back in 2005 when I watched Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants with my daughter.  All that white and blue…absolutely beautiful.

Something else I realized I loved about blogging is the way a scene piques my interest about different things to the point I often Google the subject matter and learn something new and interesting.

So, what did I learn about Santorini?  Well, its unique landscape is due to a devastating volcanic eruption and all of those houses on the cliffs are actually clinging to those cliffs above an underwater caldera (crater) and because of the volcano, the beaches are made up of red, white and black lava pebbles. Amazing!  Also, if I am lucky enough to travel there someday, the flight with connections is about 26 hours and has a $2,000 USD price tag!  I think that one is pretty deep in the bucket but a girl can dream!

Springtime In Paris

springtime in paris

Featuring Promagic and Fashiowl Poses

I don’t want to sound like a broken record but…this photo shoot was so fun!  I really hope my fellow bloggers have as much fun as I do when coming up with ideas and then making them happen.

This is my first blog post for a new sponsor, Promagic, and I am super excited to work with them.  They have a great variety of items..fun, cute, sexy… and it’s going to be so fun playing dress up!  That is how it was with this photo.

I let myself drift off to imagine a real afternoon of shopping in Paris, stopping at a quaint sidewalk cafe (ok..so maybe I thought of the Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie in the France pavilion at Epcot too but that has to be close to the real thing, right?)  Oh, what would we do without our imaginations!

My pose is by Fashiowl Poses and works perfectly with the shot.  It is from the Fever Pose set, one of three new packs that will be out at Limit8 today. They are very fun and versatile.  Be sure to stop by and happy day dreaming everyone!

Summer Sidewalks

Beauty in Bloom.jpg

Happy Monday everyone!  The new round of Cosmopolitan is open and there are some super cute things this round.  I am wearing the latest releases by Meva and loving the combination.  All pieces come with texture huds so you have several options.  The dress, earrings and necklace are sold separately so you can grab the whole set or just the pieces you like.   I love the size of the necklace..nice and chunky!  I think it would go great with her Sora jacket as well. You can find the details on the Sora jacket in my blog post here.
