Fit For A Queen

Fit For A Queen

Featuring [Krescendo] and Lyrium

Luxury as far as the eye can see.  This gorgeous new Monarchy Bed comes to us from [Krescendo] and is available at the current round of Cosmopolitan.  It has beautiful scroll work at the head and foot and includes a hud with texture change options for the bedding and pillows. Also seen here are the [Krescendo] Ferme de Bourdons chandeliers which matched perfectly. I added some draping to make it all cozy and romantic.

Thanks to Lyrium I have an extra plush star pillow which is included as a prop in the new main store release, the Bianca Series.  The Bianca Series consists of 5 poses and matching pillow props.

I’m ready for my nap now!  Happy weekend everyone and have a great one!

I Only Came For The Dancing

I Only Came For The Dancing

Featuring MONUMENT at Redeux

Most young adults can’t wait until their 21st birthday, making big plans to go and hit the bars.  Me and my other 3 best friends were a little different!  For us it was all about the dancing!

It started when a local bar designated Tuesday evenings as “teen night” and we went every Tuesday or every Tuesday one of our parents would drive us, dancing until the wee hours of 10 PM.  We spent a few months loving our Tuesday night dancing until we found out about a dance club that was JUST for teens and it was open Friday and Saturday nights.  This meant no more school night worries!  It was a little further from home so now we had to split the parental driving duties…one friends parents taking us and another picking us up.

This continued for about a year I guess until we got our drivers licences.  Then we just had to get permission to use the car.  I think the parents were actually happy since it meant no more one AM pickups for them.  And so this continued for YEARS!  All through 4 years of high school we spent either Friday or Saturday night there..sometimes both.  Throughout all that time we made great friends, dancing partners and even became friends with the owners.

Fast forward to the year we all started having our 18th birthdays.  Technically that was the cut off age and you weren’t supposed to be allowed in to the teen club and for a lot of our friends this was fine.  They found bars where you only had to be 18 to get it and started going there.  My friends and I tried a few but the crowd was obviously WAY different and we started having to deal with men that were WAY too old for us.  We wanted back into the teen club where the music was better than any bar and the dance floor was much bigger and because of our friendship with the owners they still allowed us in.  Was it breaking the rules..yes…but we weren’t there to prey on the new 13 and 14 year olds…we were only there for the dancing…and dance we did!

Come Back To Me

Come Back To Me

Featuring Elle Boutique and Lyrium

I like the mystery surrounding this picture.  Is she waving to that special someone who has just pulled up to the curb below to take her out for an evening on the town or is she wiping a tear and on her fourth glass of wine waiting for a phone call that isn’t coming?

Don’t let the title fool you though!  Being that I am a “glass is half full” kind of girl I am going to go with the first option.  I would never let a sexy dress, beautiful jewelry and fine wine go to waste by sitting on a balcony!

The beautiful necklace featured here is by Elle Boutique.  The Juliet Back Necklace includes a hud offering 8 metal options and 16 bead textures and can be found in the main store.

Need an oil change? Tune up? You’ve come to the right place!  The newest releases from Meva are inspiring me to throw on some tats and be a little rough around the edges.  I combined the leather and tattoos with some feminine hair because I like that combination of hard and soft.

Be sure to check out all the recent releases from Meva because all of the pieces can be mixed and matched with each other for several great looks.  I am wearing pieces from the Rory set, currently at Kinky!  Hurry over to Kinky before the 19th and be a little naughty while Santa isn’t watching!

Pastel Winter

Pastel Winter

My post today is for one of the blogger challenges offered by the SL Christmas Expo called “Why I Relay“.  The challenge is for anyone who has a personal reason to support Relay For Life and the American Cancer Society and like it or not, I have reason.

I am a two time breast cancer survivor. First diagnosed in 2007, I went through the usual treatment; chemo, surgery, radiation. Thankfully, I was able to move forward, rarely giving cancer another thought, determined not to live in fear of the “what if’s” and I did that successfully. Fast forward to 2016, when I learned it was back, this time learning I had inherited a gene mutation, BRCA2 that raised my odds of getting breast and ovarian cancer greatly, 80% in fact. There was more surgery, more chemo but I did it all again, successfully and am doing well today.

Since the second diagnosis, its been a little harder not to think about the “what if’s” but they are mostly in regards to my daughter, who is about to be tested for the gene mutation she has a 50/50 chance of having.  So, why do I relay?  I relay for myself, I relay for my dear friend, Toni, who lost her fight after 3 graceful battles, I relay for my nephew, newly diagnosed with Lymphoma and about to begin chemo, I relay for all of those who have fought this battle successfully or gracefully never gave up trying and most of all I relay for my beautiful daughter, my only child, the greatest treasure I have ever known so that if she is faced with hard decisions, she will have the knowledge to make the best choices for her, in part due to the work done by The Relay for Life, the American Cancer Society and all of the other organizations working to end cancer.

Please visit the SL Christmas Expo, look around, shop, donate. There are great things available and with creators donating proceeds up to 100%, it is effortless on your part to support this great cause.

Old School, Meet the Future!

Old School Meets the Future.jpg

Boombox, meet hoverboard…hoverboard….boombox.  I have many fond memories of the old school boomboxes….most prevalent, the weight of them, but I also remember sitting around one evening with my best friend playing Rapper’s Delight by The Sugarhill Gang on the cassette player.  Pen and paper in hand, pressing play, rewind, play, rewind, pause, play, rewind, etc., as we jotted down the lyrics so we could learn them by heart…the album version…all 14 minutes & 35 seconds of it.  I can still sing along today without missing a beat!  Now if only we had had hoverboards instead of bicycles!  This pose is a new release by Fashiowl Poses and is just one of 9 unisex bento poses in the Hoverboard Pack.  It will be available at On9 which starts on November 9th.
