Visions of Sugarplums

Visions of Sugarplums (2)

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads.

We are right in the middle of that time of year where treats and goodies are plentiful everywhere you look.  Myself, I have been thinking about Russian Teacakes.  They are a Christmas tradition for me and I admit to visions of them dancing in my head even while “snug” in my chair.  I am loving all the Christmas decor and photos and am starting to wonder what we will all be taking photos of after Christmas.

My pose today is by PosEd Poses and is aptly named “Thinking Out Loud”.  If you look closely you can see I am thinking about sugarplums and other treats “dancing” in my head.  I need pecans for my teacakes…I may as well head to the store so I can make my teacakes and then start thinking about the next tasty treat.

Christmas Keys

Christmas Keys.jpg

One thing I really love about the Christmas season it the music.  Growing up my mother played her collection of Christmas albums the whole month of December on a floor model record player.  Back then record players were in a large console that was actually what I would consider a piece of furniture.

I remember it well, sliding the top open and watching the records spin round and round. While the old console is long gone, my mother still keeps a record player and still plays all those old, well loved, Christmas albums.

This gorgeous piano is by Krescendo and is available now at the Seduction Fair until December 21st. The baubles in the vases are from Krescendo as well and are part of the MadPea Alliance.  You can read more about the MadPea Premium hunts here.

The beautiful dress I am wearing is by *Sweet Kajira* and is coming soon to the Sense Event which opens on December 18th.  The Jane dress comes in nine shades, perfect for the holidays and beyond.

Need an oil change? Tune up? You’ve come to the right place!  The newest releases from Meva are inspiring me to throw on some tats and be a little rough around the edges.  I combined the leather and tattoos with some feminine hair because I like that combination of hard and soft.

Be sure to check out all the recent releases from Meva because all of the pieces can be mixed and matched with each other for several great looks.  I am wearing pieces from the Rory set, currently at Kinky!  Hurry over to Kinky before the 19th and be a little naughty while Santa isn’t watching!

A Little Help From Friends

A Little Help from Friends

I am about to start my yearly struggle with Christmas lights.  I’m running behind this year so won’t be going all out but I do want to put them in the front windows.  It would be nice to just open the door and have my feathered friends come in and flit about, hanging lights here and there, while I sipped cocoa on the couch.  Since that is not going to happen, I guess I better get busy.  Happy Monday everyone!

Reindeer Games

Reindeer Games

Spinning off the idea of my Frosty tribute picture I thought it only fair that Rudolph get a shout out too and so much of my cute decor from Sway’s fit right in with the feeling of the movie.

Sway’s has a great Advent Calendar going and if you have not started it already I suggest you get over there, get your hud, hunt for the keys and start clicking the calendar before you miss any more gifts.  Sway’s also has new spotlight items available…2 in fact…because she thought they went so well together AND she’s the boss!  She can do that!  Lucky for us.  The spot light items are Christmas Treats and Snowman Mugs and are super adorable.  Remember, Spotlight items are 50% off for VIP members and 15% off for everyone!  Spotlight pricing is good until January 5th.

Also setting the mood are my reindeer antlers and Rudolph nose..you know..just in case I have to guide Santa’s sleigh too!  They are from Gable and are available at the SL Christmas Expo.  They are also Gable’s 100% donation item, meaning 100% of the proceeds from the sale of this set go to Relay for Life.  The Expo runs through the 9th so time is running out!  Don’t miss it.

Last but certainly not least are my super comfy cozy PJ’s by Pink Star Attire.  So cute and they come in several Christmas patterns.  Great for relaxing and snuggling with your favorite guy or gal during the Christmas holiday! (Disclaimer: I may be partial to the PJ’s because they are made by my awesome sissy but they truly are as adorable as she is!)

Pastel Winter

Pastel Winter

My post today is for one of the blogger challenges offered by the SL Christmas Expo called “Why I Relay“.  The challenge is for anyone who has a personal reason to support Relay For Life and the American Cancer Society and like it or not, I have reason.

I am a two time breast cancer survivor. First diagnosed in 2007, I went through the usual treatment; chemo, surgery, radiation. Thankfully, I was able to move forward, rarely giving cancer another thought, determined not to live in fear of the “what if’s” and I did that successfully. Fast forward to 2016, when I learned it was back, this time learning I had inherited a gene mutation, BRCA2 that raised my odds of getting breast and ovarian cancer greatly, 80% in fact. There was more surgery, more chemo but I did it all again, successfully and am doing well today.

Since the second diagnosis, its been a little harder not to think about the “what if’s” but they are mostly in regards to my daughter, who is about to be tested for the gene mutation she has a 50/50 chance of having.  So, why do I relay?  I relay for myself, I relay for my dear friend, Toni, who lost her fight after 3 graceful battles, I relay for my nephew, newly diagnosed with Lymphoma and about to begin chemo, I relay for all of those who have fought this battle successfully or gracefully never gave up trying and most of all I relay for my beautiful daughter, my only child, the greatest treasure I have ever known so that if she is faced with hard decisions, she will have the knowledge to make the best choices for her, in part due to the work done by The Relay for Life, the American Cancer Society and all of the other organizations working to end cancer.

Please visit the SL Christmas Expo, look around, shop, donate. There are great things available and with creators donating proceeds up to 100%, it is effortless on your part to support this great cause.
