Christmas Keys

Christmas Keys.jpg

One thing I really love about the Christmas season it the music.  Growing up my mother played her collection of Christmas albums the whole month of December on a floor model record player.  Back then record players were in a large console that was actually what I would consider a piece of furniture.

I remember it well, sliding the top open and watching the records spin round and round. While the old console is long gone, my mother still keeps a record player and still plays all those old, well loved, Christmas albums.

This gorgeous piano is by Krescendo and is available now at the Seduction Fair until December 21st. The baubles in the vases are from Krescendo as well and are part of the MadPea Alliance.  You can read more about the MadPea Premium hunts here.

The beautiful dress I am wearing is by *Sweet Kajira* and is coming soon to the Sense Event which opens on December 18th.  The Jane dress comes in nine shades, perfect for the holidays and beyond.

Bells on Bobtails Ring

Bells on Bobtails Ring

I’m not so sure this “bobtail” is my size but he sure gave a fun ride.  Fashiowl Poses has come out with several cute sets appearing at various events and this Carousel prop is just one of those.  It is one of four sets available now at Tres Chic.  The sets (sold separately) have a carnival theme and include a series with cotton candy, a kissing booth, one of those “swing the hammer and hit the bell” strong man games and of course this carousel.  The carousel has 9 built in poses and offers some great photo ops.  I loved the idea of a winter carousel ride, hot chocolate waiting in the background and am sure there are plenty of these around in the real world but not near me and certainly not with this much snow.  I will enjoy this one for a few more rides in Second Life but if you are lucky enough to live near one, make sure you pay it a visit this season.  Simple pleasures are far too often overlooked!

Grimm Enchantment

Grimm Enchantment

I must admit, I am super excited for the upcoming round of Enchantment, which starts November 10th.  The theme is the Brothers Grimm and I can’t wait to see what all the creators have come up with.  I collect vintage childrens books and have several that are collections of fairy tales.  The Grimms Fairy Tales have given us the well known classics such as Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Rapunzel and some of the more obscure but delightful, like The Goose Girl, Snow White and Rose Red and The Bremen Town Musicians.  The dress I am wearing, Sabrina, is by *SK* and will be available at the event and the cane is included.  Don’t miss Enchantment…It’s sure to be…Enchanting.

Let’s Play in the Woods

Let's Play in the Woods 1

I love when I get to do a photo with my husband….though sometimes he is here to help and sometimes I just have to log him on and get him photo ready myself.  For some reason it always goes much faster when I am doing the dressing, posing hands and face, adjusting hover…I guess that comes along with all the practice we get, right ladies?  Shi.s. poses has releases some great fall poses for singles and couples. They are designed to work with a bicycle that is not included but is available for purchase from Thor.  You can see this bike I already had in my inventory worked just fine.  The Rowan Circular bench is from Sway’s and comes with all sorts of options for wood, blanket and pillow textures, has single and couple animations and seats up to 4 avatars.

Let's Play in the Woods 2

Here is a shot of the second couple pose which again will work great with any bike you may already own.  The leaf piles and blowing leaves are also included.  The poses and the bench are available at The Liaison Collaborative going on now until November 26th.  There are a lot of great things at this round so go get shopping and have some fun with photography yourself!

Ode To October

Ode To October

Well here we are, the end of October.  Halloween will soon be over but that doesn’t mean fall is.  Myself and the rest of the talented Second Life bloggers will assuredly continue posting fall/autumn pictures for at least a few more weeks before we move into winter/Christmas shoots.  Featured here are yet more beautiful items from Sway’s.  The focal point is the Autumn Hangout Gazebo.  It is one of 2 rare items in the Autumn Hangout set, available soon at The Gacha Garden.  I did another post on some more of the items from the set and you can find that blog post here. The new round of The Gacha Garden starts November 1st.  I can’t wait to see what other treasures are waiting!

Jack-o’-lantern

There is a shadow in the glass, A spirit in the candlelight.

There is a ghoul’s sneer in the night, A specter on the window sash.

We are not alone in this room!  In the jack-o’-lantern’s dim glow

Burns a hint of impending doom.  Does he know something we don’t know?

Sidewalk Masterpiece

Sidewalk Masterpiece

I saw a little girl in the store the other day, pleading her mother for one of those big buckets of sidewalk chalk and it reminded me of all the sidewalk art I used to do with my own daughter.  When she was very small we lived in a neighborhood where we had sidewalks and plenty of driveway space for her to scribble out masterpiece after masterpiece with those glorious fat sticks of chalk.

When I was little, sidewalk chalk wasn’t that common…the only chalk I remember was in school. The coveted predecessor to that chalk was the big, 64 count box of Crayola crayons…you know, the one with the sharpener in the box. Oh, it was a glorious thing to behold.  The mother did, indeed, get that bucket of chalk for that little girl and I was glad for it.

One day she will look back and wistfully long for the day that she sat on the warm pavement with her little girl and drew colorful stick figures and rainbows!
