Boots & Bacon Seeds

Boots & Bacon Seeds

Featuring Yasum & |T|L|C| Home Collection

I had to laugh as I was titling this photo and at the same time cringed a bit.  My husband, who knows what an animal lover I am, often refers to baby pigs as bacon seeds just to get a reaction out of me.  Don’t get me wrong, I love bacon but would never knowingly eat any meat that came from a baby animal.  Maybe its the mother instinct in me or maybe I am just weird! LOL  Anyway, it is a cute name for some cute creations.

The boots are by Yasum and are available at REDEUX which just started today and will run thru the 21st.  The detail and texture work are just beautiful and of course there are color choices as well as color options for the socks.  A must have for your winter wardrobe.

My sweet…tasty..I mean, just sweet, piglet friends are by TLC Home Collection.  So realistic, their fur just makes you want to reach down and pet them.  They are also animated, making gentle movements with their heads, just ready to dig into the treats I have brought them.  It is Christmas after all!

Leader of the Pack

Leader of the Pack

The sun is just starting to warm the frost filled air and the sled team is starting to stir.  Their owner had a pot of coffee brewing over the fire and is ready for another day of like in the Alaskan wilderness.  For years, my brother was a licensed guide in Alaska, who ran his own outfit leading hunters in their quest for bear and Dall sheep.  I have seen some wonderful photos and it looks beautiful.  I am certain I would find it too cold for my liking but these Huskies are perfectly comfortable.

Featured here are creations from |T|L|C|Home Collection and [Krescendo].  The Husky Outpost comes to us from |T|L|C| and is currently at the new round of Cosmopolitan.  The detail is amazing as usual.  You can change the fur texture on the adults and puppies and one of the adults even has cold breath vapor!  Just beautiful.

The buildings and other decor are by [Krescendo] and though not new, they certainly deserve another look as they are perfect for this time of year.  They are part of the Caribou Creek gacha set that premiered at a previous round of 6 Republic.  Creators design themes revolved around specific states of the USA and [Krescendo] was representing Alaska which worked out perfectly for my photo.

Birds of a Feather

Birds of a Feather

If you are a bird watcher or bird lover you are going to want the latest creations by |T|L|C|!!  First we have the “Fly Thru”, the most popular dining spot of the most fashionable birds in town.  The detail is amazing.  The lights on the sign have a flashing light effect that can be turned on or off and a volume control for the birds as well.  So cute!  The next offering is “Meow’s Diner” and is only for the birds who are not faint of heart.  Those brave birds willing to take that step onto the cat’s tongue will be rewarded with a pile of seeds they will find just inside. Again, you can control the volume of the birds so you can decide what works best for your environment.  The feeders are available at Tannenbaum which is going on now until December 22nd.  Fly on over and check it out!

Guardians of the Gate

Guardians of the Gate.jpg

Ok..I have to share!  There is a very funny story that goes along with this photo.  First of all, its the latest creation from TLC and it is available at a brand new event called Baroqued Gothical.  Now when I received the blogger notice, there was a small note included that the creators were leaving their comfort zone and hoped that we wouldn’t throw tomatoes at them.  In case you don’t know, TLC does amazing work, generally animals of all sorts, birds & feeders, fish, ponds…you get the idea.  So I unpack the box, rez the item and its this beautiful stone gate and I thought why would we throw tomatoes, its beautiful.  So I proceed with my setup and had it just about done but thought it was missing something.  I decided it needed another section of gate so I went back to the folder to rez another one.  Well, image my surprise when I see something in the folder that I missed the first time…tadaaaaa, The Dragon!  Well that clearly explained the tomato comment and required a completely new photo idea.  I do love the end result and would like to say to True and Lautlos, It’s ok…it took me out of my comfort zone too…but I think we both pulled it off.  Baroqued Gothical is open now and will close at 7:59 AM SLT on November 25th.

Ode To October

Ode To October

Well here we are, the end of October.  Halloween will soon be over but that doesn’t mean fall is.  Myself and the rest of the talented Second Life bloggers will assuredly continue posting fall/autumn pictures for at least a few more weeks before we move into winter/Christmas shoots.  Featured here are yet more beautiful items from Sway’s.  The focal point is the Autumn Hangout Gazebo.  It is one of 2 rare items in the Autumn Hangout set, available soon at The Gacha Garden.  I did another post on some more of the items from the set and you can find that blog post here. The new round of The Gacha Garden starts November 1st.  I can’t wait to see what other treasures are waiting!

If I Only Had A Brain

If I Only Had A Brain(1)

Considering The Wizard of Oz is my all time favorite movie, I am pretty partial to scarecrows.  Most people don’t know that The Wizard of Oz movie is actually based on just one of a  whole series of Oz books by Frank L. Baum.  There are 14 books in total and they have been my library for years!  The original book was published in 1900 and when MGM released the film adaption in 1939, they included in the credits a dedication that to this day touches me right in the heart.

“For nearly forty years this story has given faithful service to the Young in Heart; and Time has been powerless to put its kindly philosophy out of fashion. To those of you who have been faithful to it in return …and to the Young in Heart …we dedicate this picture.”

The sunflower field by TLC will add an instant touch of autumn to your home and includes 3 highly detailed, stand alone birds you will use all year round.  You can find my scarecrow buddy, created by  pose-S, at REDEUX, open now through the 21st.   He includes 5 poses and is a great decor piece even if you are not using him for photos.  GO ahead and climb on his back…it will keep you “young at heart”.

Cave of Wonders

Searching for The Cave of Wonders

I am so excited for the coming live action version of Disney’s Alladin.  They released just a teaser of a trailer but it looks so good.  You can watch the teaser here.  Will Smith will be playing the Genie and I love him but he has very large shoes to fill.  (Robin Williams voiced the Genie in the animated version.)  The scheduled opening date is May 24th, 2019 so I have a while to continue to be excited.  The poor soul in my photo was definitely not “the diamond in the rough” but I am sure the vultures were happy for the meal.  The vultures are from TLC and are currently at the Salem event but as you can see they are certainly not limited to just Halloween use.  They would go perfectly in any desert or mountain setting.  Be sure you go take a look at all the tricks, treats and other spookish delights at Salem before it ends on October 31st!
