Witch Hunt

Witch Hunt Final

Halloween in Second Life is busy, busy, busy!  There are hunts, costume parties, special events, in other words never a shortage of shopping or recreation.  The I Heart the Cart Sale – Welcome to Heck is still going on with lots of cute and affordable Halloween goodies like my “devilish” balloons and my witchy feline friend, complete with her very own cauldron.  Also coming soon is the Spookzilla Hunt & Costume party.   It is a region wide scavenger hunt where you can find…wait for this…630 prizes.  There are 63 stores participating and each will have a minimum of 10 prizes hidden.  That is completely terrifying…for your inventory!  *cackles loudly*  My cute halter is one of the prizes that will be offered by Fetch.  The hunt runs from October 22nd – 31th and the costume party is on October 28th at 6pm SLT. You can follow Spookzillas Facebook page here for all the latest information.

When Sparks Fly

When Sparks Fly

To my husband in every life, who always holds my hand with purpose!

As you fall asleep tonight, imagine that you feel my

hand slip into yours; our fingers interlacing

so that we can roam together in dreams.

Love transcends the distance between us,

for your heart is always close to mine.

Fresh Flowers

Summer in Paris

“She sprouted love like flowers,
Grew a garden in her mind,
And even on the darkest days,
From her smile the sun still shined.”

Evening in a Roman Garden

Evening in a Roman Garden.jpg

Something I love about Second Life is the diverse talent of the creators.  You can literally do, see, wear, almost anything.  I love when an item tugs at an artistic string that has gotten tangled with all the other ideas in my head and demands to be freed.  Once upon a time in Second Life I had a sim designed as ancient Rome.  This was back when my husband and I were completely hooked on the Spartacus series that appeared on the Starz network.  The building seen here in the photo was my favorite.  It is a beautiful Roman Villa created by Grey Kurka, who sadly doesn’t appear to be in Second Life any longer.  His creations were on display at The Curious Prim at Mythopoeia and we loved going exploring there.  The memories triggered by this camisk allowed me to reach back to some wonderful memories of my early days in Second Life and for that I want to say thank you to the creator, Lark!  The camisk is at REDEUX, open now through the 21st!

Furry Forest Fortunes

Furry Forest Fortunes

I’m a sucker for animals in clothes.  Perhaps this goes back to my childhood, when my most favorite stories were about Uncle Wiggily Longears, the rabbit gentleman and Nurse Jane Fuzzy Wuzzy, his muskrat housekeeper.  The stories were written by Howard R. Garis with the first one being published in 1912. There were multiple illustrators through the years and I have included some of my favorite art at the end of this post so be sure to scroll all the way down for the cuteness!

They were filled with bad guys like the Woozy Wolf and the Skillery Skallery Alligator as well as young forest friends like Lulu, Alice and Jimmie Wibblewobble, the duck children and Billie and Johnnie Bushtail, they squirrel boys.  The stories were entertaining, the characters were endearing and the artwork fascinating to my child eyes.

When I saw these little Halloween forest critters I knew I had to have them, a few of them at least.  They are part of the Trick or Treat gacha set by Ionic and are available at the October round of The Chapter Four.  There are 12 different designs and I am sure I will go back for another try at some of the others!

Tropical Glow

While sorting through some items I received from the talented creators that will be part of the Spoonful of Sugar Festival this look just came to life. I turned on my Jamaican steel drum playlist and got into a tropical state of mind. I could see myself wearing this, walking barefoot in the sand on some tropical island, sipping a fruity, delicious cocktail.  I think I need a vacation…I KNOW I need a vacation!  Be sure you don’t miss the Spoonful of Sugar Festival.  It runs September 15th – 30th.  There are multiple shopping sims and  200 designers with exclusive items.  Creator contributions from this event will be helping to support MSF/Doctors Without Borders and the important work they do.  There will be fashion shows, entertainment, a silent auction and so much more.  Second Life brings us together from places all over the world.  Please support this event so that MSF/Doctors Without Borders can continue to help our friends, future friends and those who need it most.
