Step Right Up Ladies & Gentlemen

Step Right Up Ladies & Gentlemen!

Featuring [InsurreKtion] and *SK*

Sometimes ideas just come together so well.  I have been wanting to blog this vintage carnival gacha set by [InsurreKtion] for a while now and was just getting caught up on current events.  Just as I was getting some open time, *SK* released this Valentina outfit for Tres Chic and it had this vintage, androgynous feel to it and I knew it would be perfect for this photo.  She totally looks the part of a carnival barker!

It also reminds me of one of my favorite seasons of American Horror Story.  I loved everthing about AHS – Freak Show but Twisty the Clown is NOT allowed at my carnival.  I will have to turn the lion loose on him if he shows up.  I highly recommend it and it is currently on Netflix and Amazon Prime.  Step right up and enjoy the show!

Vintage Valentines

vintage valentines

Featuring *KATE*

I am a lover of all things vintage but especially vintage holiday decorations.  I saw these vintage Valentine textures quite a while back and knew that I wanted to use them sometime in the future.  I figured it would be in a framed display in my Second Life home since I wasn’t blogging back then but here they are and I am happy I get to use them for someone other than myself to see.

They just don’t make Valentines like they used to.  Most everything these days is licensed characters with a heart slapped on it somewhere.  I, myself, am a bit vintage so I can remember the cute Valentines with silly sayings like the bee saying “Bee Mine” or “Honey, I like you” and the little deer saying “I love you “deer-ly”.  I also remember spending the days leading up to Valentines Day decorating an old cereal box with construction paper and paper doily cut out hearts.  Once Valentine’s Day arrived we would all bring our boxes to school and when it was time to pass out Valentines we would drop them into each others beautiful cereal boxes.  Do kids even do that anymore??  If they don’t they are missing out on some great memories down the road.

*KATE* has released this adorable ring and bracelet set in time for Valentines Day.  It comes fitted for Maitreya and Slink and includes a hud to change metal textures as well as to hide/show the rings or bracelet. You can find it in the mainstore.

Grimm Enchantment

Grimm Enchantment

I must admit, I am super excited for the upcoming round of Enchantment, which starts November 10th.  The theme is the Brothers Grimm and I can’t wait to see what all the creators have come up with.  I collect vintage childrens books and have several that are collections of fairy tales.  The Grimms Fairy Tales have given us the well known classics such as Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Rapunzel and some of the more obscure but delightful, like The Goose Girl, Snow White and Rose Red and The Bremen Town Musicians.  The dress I am wearing, Sabrina, is by *SK* and will be available at the event and the cane is included.  Don’t miss Enchantment…It’s sure to be…Enchanting.

I love the vintage feel of this outfit, Trish, by *SK*.  Depending on your style it could be worn as a dress, lingerie or sexy lounge wear.  It reminds me of a vintage nightgown my mother has that is from the 1940’s.  We are both lovers of vintage things but her collection is much larger than mine.  I tried to keep the vintage feel in the whole photo and think I got the look I was going for.  Trish is available now at TRES CHIC and comes in 11 gorgeous colors….everything from rich jewel tones to shimmering pastels.  TRES CHIC is open until November 10th so you still have plenty of time to go take another peek, perhaps pick up another color if you didn’t already get the fatpack.

Attic Memories

Attic Memories

We moved some boxes today that had been in storage and it was so fun to uncover treasures that have been tucked away for quite some time….my childhood babydoll and favorite teddy bear who accompanied me when I got my tonsils out at age 7.  I’m quite a bit older than that now but she (her name is Samantha) is still in great shape.  I love vintage things and collect vintage children’s books.  So, as you see, I pulled out all my vintage toys and trinkets for a photo shoot.  Do you have a favorite toy from your childhood?  Why don’t you go give it a snuggle…for old time’s sake!
