New York State of Mind

New York State of Mind

Featuring :: NEWCHURCH ::

I love the industrial look and feel of this new release from :: NEWCHURCH ::.  The shape of the bed and the detail in the trim work is just beautiful.  I imagine someone would love to have this loft in Soho but they would have to sell an arm and a leg to live there…maybe even more body parts than that…like a kidney!  Luckily, this is Second Life where you can create your perfect living space for a fraction of the cost!

The Jules Industrial bed is available at the current round of We Love Roleplay.  It comes in adult and PG versions and has multiple texture options for the main bed, the pillows and the comforter.  We Love Roleplay will end on February 28th.

Mojito Magic

Mojito Magic

Featuring Sway’s and [InsurreKtion]

Summer is coming….When the sun begins to fade you will take my hand and lead me to the patio.  You will light a fire, not for warmth but for mood, as the summer air has left the evening warm.  You turn on some music to set the tone and pour us each a chilled mojito , made with the perfect amount of lime and mint leaves.  We watch in silence as the sun sinks to meet the horizon, the music playing softly in the background while the sounds of the evening fill the air.  Summer is coming….

Ingredients

10 fresh mint leaves

1/2 lime, cut in 4 wedges

2 tablespoons white sugar, or to taste

1 cup ice cubes

1 1/2 oz. of white rum

1/2 cup club soda

Place mint leaves and 1 lime wedge into a sturdy glass. Use a muddler to crush the mint and lime to release the mint oils and lime juice. Add 2 more lime wedges and the sugar, and muddle again to release the lime juice. Do not strain the mixture. Fill the glass almost to the top with ice. Pour the rum over the ice, and fill the glass with carbonated water. Stir, taste, and add more sugar if desired. Garnish with the remaining lime wedge.

Rural Delivery

Rural Delivery

Featuring Sway’s

Let me just say how much fun I have had blogging these past 8 months!  So far I haven’t hit any roadblocks or lack of ideas and that is in part due to my sponsors.  I love when I get an idea instantly upon seeing items as I am unpacking them and the latest release from Sway’s did exactly that.

Featured here are items from the Mail For You gacha set that is available now at The Gacha Garden.  As soon as I saw the key photo I got my idea….it was that quick.

Up until I was about 10 we lived in the city, on a cute little city block where our mail was delivered to a cute little mailbox that hung right next to the front door.  Then we moved to the “boonies” which wasn’t really the boondocks but after living in the city it sure seemed like it.  It was certainly rural though.  People lived on acres, not lots and there were farms and horses and orchards…a complete change of scenery for sure. Where I had usually walked to school, I now had to take a bus and where we had been able to open the door and get the mail without even stepping off the porch, we now had to not only go outside but also cross the street to get to the mailbox.  It was totally normal to see clusters of mailboxes side by side.

That is still the place I think of as home, the place my mother still lives 40+ years later and I still smile now whenever I drive past little clusters of mailboxes.  Have a great weekend everyone!

Cabin Coffee

cabin coffee

Featuring [Krescendo] and *SK*

Having lived in Michigan most of my life, there were plenty of trips “up north”.  A few of my friends had cabins and most every summer we would pack up and head north for a weekend of camping and canoeing.  Some of us preferred to pitch our tents, some had trailers and some stayed in the cabin..maybe lucky enough to get a bed, otherwise camped out on the floor.

I will never forget the year that it rained…and rained..and rained.  We had a brand new tent and set it up with the others who preferred to “rough it”.  It was a great tent, 3 rooms with the entry room being like a screen house.  Well talk about a bad design!!  When the rains came there was nothing to shield the screen walls of that front room and it ended up ankle deep with water!  Everything was soaked!  Needless to say all of us in tents moved into the cabin for the next two nights and vowed our tent days were over..yes, it was that bad.

The day we got home from that trip I started looking for a popup and 3 days later we were the proud owners of a spiffy Coleman popup that I loved for many years.  We eventually moved up again to a hard side trailer and while it was nice, I really missed my popup.

There is nothing like a nice cup of hot coffee while camping…be it in a cabin, tent or trailer.  Summer is coming and I am looking forward to cabin coffee!

*For Kim…I know you are enjoying cabin coffee everyday.  Miss you!*

Featuring [Krescendo] and :: NEWCHURCH ::

Here we are, January 2nd, and we can all finally slow down from the hustle and bustle of the holiday.  I will slowly begin to take down the remaining Christmas decorations but not today.  Its grey and rainy and I want to catch up on my favorite blogs, sip some delicious flavored coffee and enjoy some me time.  It feels like a Monday but we are already mid week and the weekend will be here soon.  Hang in there!

It’s A Wrap!

Wrapping Up Christmas

Featuring Fashiowl Poses and *SK*

I have one small gift left to wrap and then I am officially done!  My husband has a five day weekend starting tomorrow and we are looking forward to our quiet Christmas together.  We celebrated a couple of weeks ago with my daughter and her husband, my sister and my niece, her husband and their new twin daughters.  I will certainly miss not seeing my brother, mother and father and will be sure to enjoy some phone conversation with each.  I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and hope Santa is good to you!

This super cute pose is by Fashiowl Poses and is one of four adorable sets they have at this round of Tres Chic.  This table, the decor on and under it, including the kitties, are part of the Wrapping set.  It has 7 build in poses and is great to just display as part of your room decor.

Also at Tres Chic is my fuzzy sweater by *SK*.  It is the Estrella sweater and is one of 3 mix and match pieces.  There is also a super sexy star top and a skirt to choose from.  Don’t forget about getting yourself a little gift and head to Tres Chic to pick something  out!
